Aldi Bucket Hat Giveaway, Reading & Leeds Festival

case study | brand activation | festival sampling | guerrilla marketing

Promovan delivered a fast-paced, high-volume sampling activation for Aldi at two of the UK's biggest music festivals putting 5,000 branded bucket hats directly into festival-goers' hands as they headed into Leeds and Reading Festival, back to back, over two consecutive days.

Aldi Getting the Party Started Before Festival-Goers Even Got Through the Gate

When Aldi wanted to make an impression on festival-goers before they'd even crossed the threshold, the brief was simple in concept and demanding in execution: get thousands of branded bucket hats into hands at both Leeds and Reading Festival, on consecutive days, with maximum visibility and zero fuss.

Wherever the crowd was

Rather than a static stand tucked away inside the site, Promovan worked the activation wherever festival-goers actually were high footfall areas, train stations, and shuttle bus queues - catching the wave of arrivals at every pinch point along the route in. High-energy, high-visibility, and creating a genuine buzz wherever the crowd gathered.

Branded from the ground up

Two bespoke branded sampling bins were designed, produced and deployed to hold and distribute the hats. Custom Aldi artwork, produced and signed off fast to meet a tight production window, giving the activation a professional, on-brand presence rather than anything makeshift.

Two festivals, back to back

Leeds on the Thursday, Reading on the Friday. A genuine back-to-back double header, with the team and kit moving overnight between sites to be ready for a new day. Slick logistics, no dropped days, both festivals covered inside a single tight operational window.
